New Home Sales

The sales of new homes came out of a long winter time slump with vengeance in March, rising almost 27% over February, the government recently said.

The federal tax incentives for buyers are due to expire next week that were giving the housing market a temporary boost, so it is uncertain how much impact the expiration will have on coming months sales.

The March numbers were small by historical standards, coming off a record low in February. Analysts say job creation is paramount for the momentum to sustain itself after tax incentives expire.
